Kickstarted.
Here’s a list of projects that I’ve backed in the past month or so and why I backed them. All but one are finished and I didn’t mention them prior to this because you probably don’t care about those ones at least.
1) Penny Arcade Sells Out (Finished) - Backed for $1 - This project was by Penny Arcade to try to make it so they could do as little advertising on their site as possible for a whole year. They made it most of the way there. The reason I backed this was because I like Penny Arcade and, while they have the one of the least agressive uses of advertising, I loved their pitch video and sometimes you have to throw a dollar to a good pitch video.
2) Reaper Miniatures Bones: An Evolution Of Gaming Miniatures (Finished) - Backed for $100 - So I was aware of this project shortly after it was announced and it was a good deal then with less than 100 figures in the $100, Vampire level. But things escalated quickly and Reaper went crazy with stretch goals (goals for new stuff to be added when funding levels reach certain points) and it got a little nuts. By the end, the Vampire Level had at least 240 miniatures. This may still seem dumb to spend $100 on this to you, but if you’re at all interested in RPGs or table games then you will get it.
3) Planetary Annihilation - A Next Generation RTS (12 Days Left) - Backed for $20 - This is an RTS by some of the people that made Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander, two of the best RTS games ever. If you even remotely like PC or videogames, check out the pitch video. If you like real time strategy then what are you waiting for? Seriously.
