The Stars of Track & Field - The New Score
So I was approached last night by a composer in England that wants to compose a new score for my film The Stars of Track & Field for a school assignment, as kind of a final for his university program. I said yes, with a few small caveats and also asked him if he’d be open to doing some work for Lester Johnson. Fingers crossed.

Nerds only video alert!
While film wins (obviously), DSLRs are really doing great in this test. Surprisingly coming close to film. And hearing what well respected DPs and filmmakers have to say is really reassuring that my camera choice was a pretty good one. :)

Double Hocus Pocus
This is my favorite principle in Blake Snyder’s (RIP) excellent screenwriting book Save The Cat. It’s basically saying that you are allowed one piece of unexplainable bullshit (aka magic) in your script. You can repeat that, or expand on that within the story, but at no point do you add anything other unexplainable bullshit because your film will probably fall apart.

I saw The Crazies a few weeks ago. I loved it. It’s the first movie of the year that I really want to see again in theaters (sorry Shutter Island fans, I ended up liking this more). I might go to see it and The Green Zone this weekend.
