Some old film camera bleed a red light onto the film, what is that called and how can I recreate that in camera? http://bit.ly/7J7QId as a reference.
Maybe a light leak. It happens when light leaks onto the film exposing it from the sides. Or perhaps a partial double exposure… idk. Digitally it can be recreated in Photoshop using overlays and gradient layers. I don’t know if it can be done in camera digitally. Sorry Rick.
What is your favorite movie? If you don’t have a single favorite, what are some of them?
I find it impossible to have a single favorite movie. My favorites are:
High Fidelity, The Apartment, Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Shining, The 39 Steps, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Raise The Red Lantern, Jaws, The Conversation, The Good The Bad And The Ugly, The Incredibles, Die Hard, Iron Giant, Kill Bill, Dog Day Afternoon, Aliens, and Goodfellas. But those are just some of them. They aren’t all the best films ever made (though I might argue that The Apartment is) but I love them all very much. :)
On the weekends I have to wake up really early in the mornings for work, and then I stay up really late hanging out with friends. By Sunday afternoon I get really tired. Why is that?
Fatigue is typically the result of working, mental stress, overstimulation and understimulation, jet lag or active recreation, depression, and also boredom, disease and lack of sleep. It may also have chemical causes, such as poisoning or mineral or vitamin deficiencies. Massive blood loss frequently results in fatigue..
It could be a variety of other things too. A number of diseases and mental disorders can cause fatigue. Pregnancy, fibromyalgia or even Cancer could cause you to be abnormally tired as well.
But it’s probably because you hit your head against the wall, non-stop, all weekend. Stop that, and you’ll perk right up.
My dream is to one day write the script/co-write the songs, direct, and eventually win a Tony for a Broadway Musical Comedy version of Joe Vs. The Volcano. The ideal cast would be Jason Schwarzman as Joe and Zooey Deschanel as Dede/Angelica/Patricia.
I think you have been following me for a while, and I don’t know why I didn’t follow you back until recently. You are awesome. And we are on the same continent, so you were wrong.
As to the question: how/when/why did you decide to be a filmmaker?
Haha! Thanks for following me. Yes I’ve been following you for a little bit. The whole girls on other continents thing was based on the fact that all the girls that have liked me (you know “like me” like me) seem to live on the continents of Europe or Asia. It was a strange realization for me. But one that lead to the conclusion that I should probably travel more.
As per your question: I’ve wanted to be a filmmaker, since the moment that I discovered that three of my favorite movies as a child (Jaws, E.T. and Raiders of the Lost Ark) where all made by someone called a “director”, and this “director” was the one who made the movie. This was probably at 8-9, which is a little too young for anyone to know what they wanted to do with their life. But I did. It wasn’t until later that I developed an interest in writing and editing, both of which I love. I hope that answers your question.
